I read about people referencing the 60's, 70's, 20's, but timeless is the word that comes to mind when I look at this photograph. It could have been photographed yesterday as well as fifty years ago, it doesn't really remind me of any particular era. The expression and the shadowplay are everything here, and can account for the mood the photograph exudes.
